Looking forward to a real weekend...

We've been busy so much that we barely have a weekend day! We had one day weekends the last two and it seems as though we didn't have a day off since we did housework on that one day off. So! Looking forward to Friday afternoon when the weekend begins!!!

Brandon will be out of town coaching, so it's just Daisy and me until Saturday night. There's plenty to do! Sunday is the Cavalier meet-up and we have two local cavvies who will join us. Saturday there's Dogtoberfest and a grand opening for Canine Cafe--both in Charlotte... So tempting to do both. But we should relax & grocery shop for our plans and houseguest (Brandon's mom comes to visit!) next weekend.

Anyway--whatever we decide, Daisy's going to have a spoiled weekend with us!

Kickin back

Last night we were reading in our Cavalier book that Brandon bought when we first got Daisy. Of course there's cute pictures of cavaliers and much lessons to research. One of the side bars had a note about the Love Sponge Dog.

They said that King Charles Cavalier Spaniels were playful to withstand the outdoors all day, attentive to watch TV, and patient (I thought this was an interesting dog trait). They are patient to interact with children. They will wait for the child to get home from school to play. How sweet! Daisy is just that and all of those traits combined!

Playful, Attentive, Patient, and eager to please us :)

Pool Day

Big Grin After her First Swim
What a sweetheart!!  Daisy enjoyed a day at the Water Park this past weekend.  Greenville Rec hosted their annual 'Waggin' at the Water Park' held at Discovery Island.  It was the first time we took Daisy to go swimming.  Her previous owner hadn't even seen her with water, but having that spaniel in her, Daisy was a natural.  Daisy went right into the water clunking her paws around in the shallow end.  She checked it out as her fur began to lay flat against her belly showing off her skin and bones.  We walked into the deeper water where she began to doggy paddle.  She came out to me, around and through my legs, then back to the middle of the 2ft area where she could catch her breath at the side.  This picture is a snapshot after her first swimming experience.  The big grin shows how proud she was.  And she did love the water.  Granted, some of the time I think she just wanted to be where I was, but most of the time, she was asking me to throw the ball in the water for her to fetch again... and again.  She was a hit with everyone there.

Lookin Pretty

Always looking absolutely adorable!  That's our Daisy.

Whether you're putting bows in her hair or having her sit in the laundry basket... She plays along.  Its attention she's getting and boy does she eat it up!

After a few sweet smiles and adoring glances for the camera, she let's you know its time to get this thing off and play, play, Play!

She's entertaining though, always looking pretty!

Its feeling like Fall... Daisy and I snuggled up in our Blackhawks snuggie and did some leisure reading last night.

Update

Daisy’s had fun!  Well, we’re about to hit the Labor weekend here.  The week’s go by so fast it feels like it was JUST last Friday.

Last weekend, Brandon and I drove Daisy out to Charlotte for the afternoon.  Charlotte Cavalier Club was getting together for their monthly meet-up at William Davies Park.  Daisy met 11 new Cavalier friends!

The park was nice and shaded!  We were thankful for that.  The heat can get pretty bad during the summer days.  The dogs were sweet too!  Daisy was oddly one of the rarities in the group.  Usually we have a ton of Blenheim and a sprinkle of all the other shades.  The popular dog this time were the Tri-Colors.  (my favorite after Daisy of course).  There were 3 blenheims, and two black & Tans, but no rubies!

It was fun seeing more cavaliers.  We miss our buddies in Chicago.  There are a couple of groups within a larger radius from us.  We’re looking forward to the possibility of meeting some Cavaliers in the Charleston area.  There’s a Halloween Party with the Palmetto Cavaliers!  There’s also a group based out of Asheville, NC just north of us as well.  We’re hoping for the Cavalier population around us to rapidly grow.  We did have a play date with my co-worker’s Cavalier, Bailey, last Friday.  I think he’s the closest Cavalier we have.

We love other dogs too.  We’ve been speaking with the management office and they’ve agreed to put a memo in the newsletter for a dog meet-up within our community.  We’ll see how that all pans out.  Some of the dogs here aren’t as socialized.  We’re always learning.

Happy Weekend!
HEY DAISY!  HAVE FUN!  IT’S THE WEEKEND!!
