Stormy Nights
It's Tuesday night and it's raining cats and dogs! We're cuddled up cozy in our bed listening to the rain on the roof and the thunder rolling on through.
Daisy's snoozing now but was having a look at herself on the iPad... I need to figure out how to upload pictures to the blog from ipad2.
Anyhow, we're counting down the days until Easter and enjoying the rest of the short week before Brandon heads to Kentucky to coach a tourney.

Excited!
I am extremely excited for a birthday gift that should be arriving today--3 days early. A birthday gift I already know I'm getting :) hehe. But Daisy will be surprised.
We've been looking at the Doggyride Mini. Get ready for an adventure Daisy because we'll be riding everywhere possible!
We've already made our first visit to the Lakefront. We haven't seen the doggy beach just yet (brrr!). There are so many places we want to go, but walking there from home won't be completely ideal for our little cavalier. So, Daisy will accompany us when we go on our bike rides. We can ride all over and visit all the doggy-friendly places in Chicago+. My main concern taking the dog with was putting her in a basket or bag. Heaven forbid we get in a scuffle on the bikes I couldn't stand to have her fall from there. The Doggyride Mini creates the perfect solution for Daisy's safety. It will be like one of those cargo trailers you may have seen folks carrying on bikes. It will be a little ride for Daisy!
We're so excited!! Too much fun! Now just bring back the sun and warm weather and we're ready to enjoy the weekends! Sunday's supposed to be warmer, so maybe we'll go for a Sunday morning birthday cruise.

You & Me This Morning – 7am WCIU The U Channel 26
You & Me This Morning – WCIU The U Channel 26
7am next Wednesday April 20th.
Daisy and I may be on TV! haha. Brandon went on our lunch time walk with us today but he shyed away from the camera in his comfy clothes.
We were approached by a beat reporter for You & Me This Morning. We had the opportunity to ask a question to a pet expert. We asked some stupid question about dogs eating grass... that was the recent topic of conversation. Brandon heard or read somewhere that dogs eat grass when their stomach is upset... we have no idea. Anyhow, I may be on the show Wednesday morning asking Jamie, the pet expert about that fact/myth.
I nudged Brandon that Daisy needed a bath that morning. And now she was going on camera... The camera gal said she was a real star. Our Daisy hehehe.
I received a picture text from Brandon this afternoon and Daisy is squeaky clean after her bath :)
DVR the show next Wednesday and see if we make the cut! Please excuse me--I'm not having a great hair day and Daisy of course needed a bath, but hopefully it makes the show!
Happy Wednesday!

Easter Egg Hunt!
The Greater Chicagoland Cavalier Rescue hosts an Easter Egg Hunt:
Suzanne and I puppy pooled to Deerfield this morning for an Easter Egg Hunt. Lily and Daisy buckled up for a little road trip. After a successful egg hunt (Daisy found many eggs and won two toys on top of that!) Suzanne and I thought it was too nice a day. We stopped by Montrose beach and walked along the pier with our pups. There's a dog beach nearby there as well, but we didn't think it was going to be that warm. It was. We walked in the sun with a gentle breeze off the lake. A great way to welcome Spring :)

Daisy Newspaper Retrieval April 6, 2011 6:52AM
We're beginning to practice for the big Sunday paper!
Daisy's been jumping through hoola hoops to show Aunt Joan how she can be like Grandma's past dog Boots and now she's learning to retrieve the newspaper to impress dad.
We're looking forward to the Cavalier Easter Egg Hunt this weekend!

Getting spoiled again
We always look forward to the weekend. We woke up this Saturday morning, ate breakfast, watched Dogs101 and planned a ride over to The Active Pet.
Dogs101 had a little special featuring all the first dogs--pets in the White House over the years. Ronald Reagan and his wife actually had a Blenheim King Charles Cavalier like Daisy. Their dog's name was Rex and the folks they interviewed said he was a yapper which is hard to believe knowing the breed's quiet temperament.
Later in the morning we packed some snacks and took a ride over to The Active Pet. The weather was hinting at the opportunity to walk along the pier or play near the lake. We visited with Bruce's cavaliers, George and Minnie. Bruce is one of the owners of The Active Pet. He hosted the Cavalier dog meet-up earlier in the month. There were 10-11 cavaliers, or as the doggy cake read, "CavaCheers!".
I thought today was a great day for Daisy to go back and pick out a few treats and knickknacks. It was a fun visit and Brandon got to meet some of the dogs and Bruce.
Daisy doesn't know yet, but she's going to have quite the Easter basket! We ordered a variety of toys online and will spoil her yet again.
Daisy will be attending the Greater Cavaliers of Chicagoland Easter Egg Hunt next weekend. She has the cutest Easter Bunny outfit to wear to the egg hunt and Easter with the family of course!
