Today, we're baking. A dog owner friend we met at the park told us about the sweet potato treats she's made for her cavalier & it's doggy friends. I guess they love em. We know that some of Daisy's Blue Buffalo food contains sweet potatos. We'll see how she enjoys the sweet potato chews.
The recipe was very easy. Buy sweet potatoes, clean potatoes, cut potatoes, bake. When you cut the potatoes, cut them in slices no smaller than 1/4" & no larger than 1/3". I hope I did it right because the sweet potatoes I got from Stanleys were huge. Those were the only option. They cook for 3 hours at 250 degrees.
Check out recipes by googling "sweet potato dog treats" or "sweet potato dog chews."
The sweet potatos create a warm sweet scent baking in the home.

Weekend Warrior
Daisy had an eventful weekend! From the West Loop "Love is Blind" Doggy Meet Up on saturday to a 1.8mile hike through the snow trail with my mom and I, she's been very busy! She lays next to Brandon and I for an evening nap... Weekend couldn't get any better than this! Zzzz

Snow Days!

Its going to snow! Boy, is it going to snow!
We're about to get hit with snow. 15"-23" of snow! Brandon's already headed home as his school let out at noon. We're bout to head out ourselves. Daisy will be in for a surprise when both Brandon and I come home for lunch and we hang with her all afternoon and all day tomorrow.
Daisy with static ears! |
I'm actually very excited about the weather. Its been a long time since I had a true snow day. I guess the storm is in route and hasn't altered direction yet. They're predicting that its one of the top ten snow falls Chicago has seen. That's something not all of us have seen!
This might be a time to train Daisy to relieve herself on the grass potty pad we got her preventatively awhile back. I'm sure we'll be working something out with the building maintenance to keep outside accessible, but we shall see! Either way, we're ready!
I don't know... but we're ready!
