Monday!
Yes, its another Monday... We always wish we had another weekend day to spend together, but we have to kick start the week. Daisy's always a sweet little companion in the mornings. Whether its eating breakfast together, sitting on my lap as we catch the news/weather, helping me pick out my outfits & get ready in the morning, she's a delightful distracion :)
We head into another week with the countdown to our next roadtrip. Ten days until Thanksgiving where we'll drive home to be with family ;)

An emailed Treat
Here's a recipe that was emailed to us. It looks like it may have originally been posted from whole foods market. Let us know if you try the snack! We made pumpkin biscuits a couple times in the past month or two and they were a real hit!
Makes approximately two-dozen treats.
INGREDIENTS1 banana, peeled (finally, a perfect use for that over-ripe banana on your counter)
1 cup oat flour (If your dog has challenges chewing, grind the rolled oats in a food processor before adding them to the mixture. )
2/3 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup dried parsley (*You can substitute dried mint for half of the parsley, if you like. )
3 tablespoons peanut butter
1 egg, beaten
DIRECTIONSPreheat oven to 300°F. Put banana in a large bowl and use a spoon or potato masher to mash it thoroughly. Add oat flour, oats, parsley, peanut butter, and egg and stir well to combine. Set aside for 5 minutes.
Roll mixture into 24 balls, using about 1 tablespoon dough for each; transfer to a large parchment paper-lined baking sheet as done. Use the back of a spoon or the heel of your hand to press each ball into a (1 1/2 to 2 inch) coin. Bake until firm and deep golden brown on the bottom, 40 to 45 minutes. Set aside to let cool completely.

A sweet Pumpkin for our Pumpkin kick
After making pumpkin muffins, pumpkin cookies, and even pumpkin dog biscuits, it was inevitable that Daisy would be a Pumpkin for our first Halloween together.

Carolina Cavaliers
Yesterday we hit up the Canine Cafe grand opening... Which smelled awesome since they bake everything in house! Afterwards we sported our Pumpkin Halloween costume at Dogtoberfest. Too many cute outfits!
Now we're kicking back before we head to the park with the other upstate Cavaliers!

Looking forward to a real weekend...
Brandon will be out of town coaching, so it's just Daisy and me until Saturday night. There's plenty to do! Sunday is the Cavalier meet-up and we have two local cavvies who will join us. Saturday there's Dogtoberfest and a grand opening for Canine Cafe--both in Charlotte... So tempting to do both. But we should relax & grocery shop for our plans and houseguest (Brandon's mom comes to visit!) next weekend.
Anyway--whatever we decide, Daisy's going to have a spoiled weekend with us!

Kickin back
Last night we were reading in our Cavalier book that Brandon bought when we first got Daisy. Of course there's cute pictures of cavaliers and much lessons to research. One of the side bars had a note about the Love Sponge Dog.
They said that King Charles Cavalier Spaniels were playful to withstand the outdoors all day, attentive to watch TV, and patient (I thought this was an interesting dog trait). They are patient to interact with children. They will wait for the child to get home from school to play. How sweet! Daisy is just that and all of those traits combined!
Playful, Attentive, Patient, and eager to please us :)
